ANP leader visits Iranian consulate general for solidarity
PESHAWAR: Awami National Party (ANP) secretary general Mian Iftikhar Hussain on Tuesday visited the Iranian Consulate General and expressed solidarity with Iran over the killing of Iranian security forces’ general by the US.
The ANP leader said that targeting Iranian general on the Iraqi soil was barbarism. He said his party believed in non-violence and opposed violence everywhere in the world. Mian Iftikhar conveyed the condolence message from the party chief for the Iranians to the Consul General Syed Ibrahim Nehadi.Mian Iftikhar said the region had already suffered from war and that another war would bring a total destruction. The ANP leader said that other countries should either try to de-escalate tensions between the two countries or remain neutral. He said the US had failed to trigger a rift between Iran and Iraq.
