Minister for Industries and Trade Mian Aslam Iqbal chaired a meeting at Civil Secretariat here on Thursday in which loan schemes of Punjab Small Industries Corporation (PSIC) were reviewed.
Minister Finance Hasham Jawan, secretary Finance, MD, PSIC, president Bank of Punjab (BoP) and other officers concerned attended the meeting. Matters related to disbursement of soft loans to skilled workforce were settled with the BoP in the meeting.
Addressing the meeting, Mian Aslam Iqbal said soft loaning schemes for skilled youths has been finalised and will be launched soon. Under the scheme, up to Rs 3000,000 soft loans will be given to skilled youths for business. Women will also get loan under the scheme and they will be given special incentive in this programme, he added. The minister said the Punjab government has allocated 6 billion rupees for this scheme. Skilled workers of south Punjab will get more facilities under this programme. He said loan will also be provided for the revival of cottage industry in all the districts of the province.
