PROVINCIAL Minister for Cooperative Malik Iqbal Channar has said that record of all the cooperative housing societies and transfer of plot will be made under biometric system.
He said the government had distributed stamp paper readable machines under computerisation programme to check the land mafia.
He expressed these views while talking to representatives of Cooperative Housing Societies on Friday.
Iqbal Channar said the Punjab government had provided 109 million rupees to the Cooperative Department for computerisation out of which 100 million rupees were being spent on computerisation of cooperative housing societies while nine million rupees on other cooperative societies. He said the cooperative societies had paid 1171 million rupees CVT and stamp duty to he Punjab government in 2013-14 which was 59.22 percent of the total income.
