QIH celebrates 8th anniversary
Islamabad: Doctors and staff celebrated the achievements of Quaid-e-Azam International Hospital (QIH) at a gala event commemorating its 8th anniversary here on Sunday night, with the legendary Rahat Fateh Ali Khan’s performance adding extra oomph to the festive mood.
A mammoth 2000 plus gathering converged at the hospital, with doctors, employees, and guests from Pakistan and abroad in attendance. Eminent orthopedic surgeon Dr. Khalid Saleem Aslam delivered the welcome address. He appreciated the efforts of doctors and staff, and made a special mention of those who have remained associated with QIH right from its inception. Newcomers were also warmly welcomed as members of the larger QIH family.
Speaking on the occasion, the hospital’s Founder and CEO Dr. Shaukat Ali Bangash said, “This celebration aims to recognize your accomplishments and dedication towards making QIH the place to be. Tracing the institution’s journey, he recollected the expansion of services during the last eight years, with initiation of super specialties such as Kidney Transplant, Liver Transplant, Bone Marrow Transplant, and hip and knee replacement, among others. He said, further expansion of clinical services is also on the horizon. “We have completed century of liver transplants in less than two years,” he stated amidst applause. Dr. Bangash urged all employees to dispense their responsibilities with compassion and to make patient care a top priority. He thanked all doctors and staff for turning the page in eight years.
A congratulatory video message from eminent scholar Maulana Tariq Jamil was also played on the occasion. “I salute Dr. Bangash and all doctors and employees of QIH for their dedication to delivering compassionate care to those in need from across the country and beyond, and their steadfast commitment to excellence in patient care and services,” he stated in the message.
