KARACHI: The Sindh Transport Minister, Syed Awais Qadir Shah, has said it is impossible to inaugurate the Green Line bus service in Karachi. In a press statement issued on Tuesday, Sindh Transport minister said the Sindh government had fully supported the Green Line bus project in the city but the federal government should not take a U-turn on it. He said the Green Line bus project could be completed the moment the federal government decides to do so.
The minister said it could take up to one year to procure the buses for the project. However, the provincial government has finalized the fare and the government's subsidy for the prospective passengers. He said the Sindh Governor made a wrongful claim about the inauguration of Green Line bus service.
A statement issued by the Sindh Governor House said the Governor had made no statement about inauguration of the Green Line bus service and it only concerned about the completion of six flyovers being built along the route of the bus.
