Post Graduate Medical Institute Principal Prof Dr Khalid Mahmood has said Ameer-ud-Din Medical College will be converted into a state of the art institute of medical education having shifted its campus to Lahore General Hospital.
It would be a centre of excellence in medical education where all necessary facilities would be available for modern research to find out cure and treatment of various ailments and epidemics. "Young doctors are our precious asset and they should work hard to keep themselves updated with the new trends and advancements in medical science so as to earn good name of themselves as well as of their country," Dr Khalid said while addressing the students of Ameer-ud-Din Medical College, according to a press release issued on Tuesday. The function was also attended by faculty members of PGMI & LGH, Additional Dean Dr Bushra Suhail and others besides a large number of students.
The principal said only research could guarantee solution to modern diseases. A healthy society cannot be imagined without strong health sector in any county, he said and added morality and medical profession go together. Doctors should be ready to scarify their comforts on call of a patient, he said.
