FBR extends income tax returns filing date till Dec 31

ISLAMABAD: After receiving tax returns of 1.9 million with paid up tax amount of Rs15.5 billion so far, the FBR has decided to grant another extension into the deadline of filing of income tax returns up to Dec 31, 2019.
A top official of FBR confirmed to The News that the date of filing of income tax returns was extended to December 31, 2019. Till the last date of filing of income tax returns on December 16, 2019, the FBR received 1.9 million returns.
The paid up tax amount along with 1.9 million returns fetched Rs15.5 bn tax amount. The FBR took decision to grant another extension because it had received income tax returns up to 2.7 million in last financial year. Now the FBR is eyeing to cross this mark in the current fiscal year.
