LAHORE:Following the call of the Punjab Bar Council (PbBC), lawyers will observe strike across Punjab from today (Monday) for indefinite period until the release of all arrested lawyers in Punjab Institute of Cardiology attack case.
The Bar Council has also banned the police entry into courts premises. The PbBC office-holders directed all the district and tehsil bar associations to ensure implementation of the ban and boycott of the court proceedings across the province.
PbBC took this decision in the meeting held on Saturday and also formed a committee to educate the general public about the doctors’ involvement in the Punjab Cardiology Institute (PIC) carnage. The committee will be led by PbBC member Munir Bhatti.
The meeting also decided to hold lawyers’ convention in Lahore soon. LGH clinic: The Sugar Clinic set up at the Lahore General Hospital (LGH) provided free check-up facilities to more than 1,000 patients, along with free medical tests while some patients were also given glucometers.
