Two held for illegal human organ trade

OKARA: Police on Friday arrested two people for involvement in illegal human organs trade.

Reportedly, Aslam and Kamil made a deal with Naseer of 7/4L village to sell a piece of his liver. However, Naseer’s brother told the whole story to his family. On the day of the incident, when Kamil and Aslam came to meet Naseer, villagers caught them. Naseer told that the accused had already checked 12 persons, including him, to get a piece of liver. Later, Kamil told the police that his uncle needed a piece of liver to save his life.

He said that Naseer’s test were cleared and they had bargained with him and paid him Rs 10,000 to get a piece of liver from him. Further investigations are underway.

DBA CONDEMNS LAWYERS ARREST: The District Bar Association members on Friday condemned the arrest and registration of cases against lawyers in Lahore.

In a general meeting here, DBA president Rai Abdul Ghafoor, general secretary Ch Riaz and other lawyers condemned the registration of cases and arrests of the lawyers in Lahore after the PIC incident. The lawyers alleged that the doctors had uttered very objectionable and insulting words on social media against the lawyers. The lawyers expressed complete solidarity with the Pakistan Bar Council and the Punjab Bar Council.

‘GOVT TAKING MEASURES FOR PEOPLE’S RELIEF’: Deputy Commissioner Usman Ali has said that the government is taking measures to provide relief to the masses.

Talking here on Friday, the DC said that the government institutions would immediately resolved the public complaints received on citizen portal. The DC directed the district incharges of various government departments to achieve their goals.

THREE GANGSTERS BOOKED: Police on Friday booked three gangsters on the charge of eve-teasing here. Nasreen Bibi of 29-30/2L visited a bazaar where accused Sheharyar, Abdul Ghaffar and their one accomplice started teasing her.
