LAHORE:National Accountability Bureau Lahore on Thursday distributed cheques worth Rs90 million among 118 affectees and 1,900 possession letters among the affectees of Pak-Arab Housing Society Scam.
Director Investigation, NAB Lahore, graced the ceremony as chief guest and was also attended by senior NAB officers and hundreds of affectees. As per case details, NAB Lahore on complaints lodged by the general public against administration of the housing society had arrested prime accused former Senator Ammar Gulzar and co-accused Manager, Ghulam Murtaza last year. During the course of investigation, the accused persons were awarded conditional bail while keeping in view the condition of speedy adjustment of affectees’ losses, so the accused may settle the disputes by utilising their resources, without causing further delay. It was clarified by NAB Lahore that the ongoing inquiry of Pak-Arab Housing Society scam would not be closed down unless the last affectee of the case was compensated in the shape of cash return or handed over the possession letter.
