MANSEHRA: The residents on Wednesday threatened to take to the streets if the government didn’t establish Hazara University campus in the Oghi tehsil.
“The previous Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf government had sanctioned Hazara University campus for Oghi but over two years have passed without any development since the announcement,” stated Qazi Zahidullah, the former tehsil naib nazim of Oghi. A group of people led by Zahidullah told reporters in Oghi that they were pleased that Hazara University Vice-Chancellor Syed Manzoor Shah had approved a campus for Balakot on the demand of MPA Ahmad Hussain Shah. Hafiz Mohammad Younus, a former acting tehsil nazim for Oghi, said the government had announced to set up a campus in Oghi in a rented building initially but to no avail. “Our children are without a higher education but the government is not taking this important issue seriously and we will block Oghi-Mansehra road to traffic if the work on the Oghi campus is not launched within a week,” said Younus.
