Chrysanthemum exhibition kicks off at Islamia College University

PESHAWAR: The fabulous display of colourful flowers added to the beauty of historical Islamia College University as the weeklong Chrysanthemum exhibition was kicked off on Wednesday.

The exhibition was opened at an impressive ceremony at the main lawn of the college. Vice-Chancellor Islamia College University Prof Dr Naushad Khan was the chief guest on the occasion. The ceremony was also attended by a number of faculty members, students, police officers and visitors. All the lawns of the college had been decorated with nice designs of flowers, which attracted a big number of visitors. Chrysanthemum exhibition is a regular feature of the institution, which is observed on the arrival of winter every year.

Speaking on the occasion, the vice-chancellor lauded the gardeners of the college for the beautiful show of the flowers and taking good care of the plants and trees of the institution. Registrar of the college, Dr Tauqeer Alam, and other officials were also present on the occasion. The visitors took a keen interest in the exhibition. The remained busy in visiting bunches of flowers beautifully piled up everywhere in the spacious lawns of the college and took selfies.

“It gives me immense pleasure to be here and enjoy the flower show. Islamia College is my alma mater and paying a visit to it has always been a source of mental satisfaction and rejoice for me,” said Zubair Khan, a visitor.
