Labourer dies as trolley overturns

LAHORE:A labourer sitting on a trolley died when the trolley overturned due to overloading near Joray Pull in the Hurbanspura police limits on Tuesday.

Police reached the scene after being informed and collected forensic evidences. Police handed over the body to his family after completing legal formalities.

accident: A 50-year-old man died after his motorbike collided with a stationary truck in the North Cantt police area on Tuesday.

The victim has been identified as Saeed, a resident of Ghazi Abad. He was passing through Askari 10 on his bike when his bike hit a parked truck. As a result, he suffered multiple injuries. He was rushed to hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

Police collected evidences from the spot. Further investigation is going on. Police handed over the body to his family after completing legal formalities.

Body found: A 40-year-old man was found dead in the New Anarkali police jurisdiction on Tuesday.

The man was spotted dead on a footpath by a passerby. Police reached the scene after being informed and collected evidences. Police said he looked like a drug addict and he might have died due to an overdose of drugs and cold weather.

cop injured: A police constable injured after a speeding car hit him at a picket at Kahna on Tuesday morning. The victim has been identified as Saif. His arm was fractured in the accident. He was rushed to hospital. The SP Headquarters inquired after him. Police are trying to trace the car driver who had fled the scene after the accident.

criminals: Investigation wing of Lahore police claimed to have arrested 6,562 criminals and submitted 5,228 challans in courts in the last month. According to a monthly report of police, the arrested persons were involved in murder, murder attempt, kidnapping for ransom, dacoity and theft incidents. Police also arrested 129 members of 57 gangs of criminals.

performance: The capital city police officer has directed the officers concerned that there should not be any delay in registering FIRs.

During a meeting with the officers of Civil Line division police, he directed the officers to improve their performance and pay attention to eliminate crimes. He warned that the report of SDPOs over poor performance would be sent to the IG, Punjab.

Khidmat Markaz: The City Traffic Police Lahore in collaboration with the Defence Housing Authority will set up a Khidmat Markaz at the DHA head office at Phase VI. Chief Traffic Officer Capt (R) Liaquat Ali Malik and DHA Secretary Col (r) Sajid Javed held a meeting at the DHA head office on Tuesday.

KHIDMAT COUNTERS: Lahore Police issued its annual performance report regarding the Police Khidmat Counters set up at different hospitals, DHQs and RHCs of the city here Tuesday.

SSP Operations Lahore Muhammad Naveed said that Police Khidmat Counters had issued more than 10,505 medico-legal certificates to injured citizens.
