LAHORE:Punjab Ombudsperson Rukhsana Gillani while deciding a complaint of harassment at workplace lodged by a woman employee from district civil courts against a male employee found him guilty of causing harassment to the complainant.
The Punjab Ombudsperson imposed on the accused major penalty of compulsory retirement under the Protection against Harassment of Women at Workplace Act, 2010.
The complainant had approached the office of the Ombudsperson with the allegations that an employee of district courts had been harassing her for four years. The complainant said he had proposed her. On her refusal, he turned against her and started harassing her and created a hostile environment for her at her workplace in order to trap her.
She lodged complaint of harassment in the office of Punjab Ombudsperson and the office took immediate notice of the harassment and initiated an inquiry against the accused officer.
