UK transfers Rs38 billion to NBP

ISLAMABAD: UK’s National Crime Agency has transferred Rs38 billion into the National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) out of settlement of 190 million pounds against Pakistan property tycoon Riaz Malik.
Top official sources in the Ministry of Finance confirmed to The News on condition of anonymity on Friday night that the UK authorities transferred a certain portion of the amount to the NBP on the advice of Government of Pakistan.
The sources said the money received from the UK will be given to the Supreme Court. However, they refused to share any further information on this subject.
