KARACHI: K-Electric initiated a two-year apprenticeship programme in 2017 with a first batch of over 30 apprentices and the vision to train hundreds more across areas of generation, distribution and transmission, a statement said on Wednesday.
Recently, the first batch of 38 distribution apprentices passed out as electrical technicians in a ceremony held at the KE’s Distribution Network Academy, it added. Under the K-Electric Apprenticeship Programme, several apprentices have successfully completed training in various aspects of the energy value chain.
After qualifying, these graduates are not only considered for full-time employment in various areas of the organisation, they are also a potential pool of talent for the wider power sector, which is witnessing transformative growth on the back of sustained investments, it said.
