TCKP showcases tourism potential at Tunisia exhibition
PESHAWAR: The Tourism Corporation Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (TCKP) participated in the annual exhibition in the Republic of Tunisia to attract more tourists to the scenic places, archaeological and heritage sites of the province.
Tunisian business tycoons, National Chamber of Women Entrepreneurs and International Women Group had jointly arranged the three-day annual show, said a press release.
Pakistan Ambassador to the Republic of Tunisia, Muhammad Hassan and Deputy Head of Mission, Shafiq Ahmad, extended all-out support to the TCKP to set up a stall to showcase scenic places, archaeological and heritage sites and cultural and traditional artifacts. The TCKP had set up a special desk where the visitors were provided information about tourism and cultural potential of the province through brochures, posters, booklets, video documentaries and pamphlets.
The visitors and families after obtaining information evinced keen interest in the scenic sites of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and its rich cultural heritage. They were told that Pakistan, particularly Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, had enormous scenic attractions and cultural diversity. An official said that participating in the exhibition was aimed at highlighting the tourist spots, cultural and traditional items to lure more visitors to the province. He said that it was a great opportunity as the tourists and families knew about the KP’s scenic resorts and cultural heritage at the event.
Up to 5,418 police officials imparted specialized training
A total of 5,418 police officials were imparted trainings in 178 courses conducted in seven specialized training schools during the last 10 months.
The Police School of Investigation Hayatabad during the last 10 months trained 1,100 police officials in 41 courses. Similarly, in Police School of Intelligence Abbottabad, 850 officials were trained in 30 courses, in Police School of Explosive Handling Nowshera. Up to 855 officials were equipped with special training in 25 courses.
Besides, in Police School of Public Disorder and Riot Management, 563 officials were sensitized in 13 courses. The Police School of Tactics Hayatabad Peshawar trained 326 officials in 17 courses. At the Police School of Information Technology Peshawar, 1433 officials were given training in 48 courses. In Traffic Management School Kohat, 291 police officials were imparted training in four courses. Different capacity building courses of two and four weeks are being arranged in these schools for police officials. A total of 1,051 courses were arranged at schools, during which 29,075 officials were trained.
