PESHAWAR: Chief Minister Mahmood Khan on Sunday assured the resolution of issues faced by paramedics in the Swat district.
He said this while talking to a delegation of paramedics from his native district at the Chief Minister’s House here, said an official handout. Advisor to the chief minister on merged districts Ajmal Wazir, Additional Secretary Health Kaleem Baloch and other officials were present on the occasion.
The delegation members appreciated the steps taken by the provincial government to improve the health sector, particularly the incentives given to paramedics. They informed the chief minister about the demands and issues faced by the paramedics. Mahmood Khan directed the Health Department to take pragmatic measures for the timely resolution of problems in consultation with paramedics.
He said the development of the health sector has been one of the top priorities of the provincial government. The chief minister said that the government was well aware of the public needs and problems in the health sector, adding the manpower shortage was being met on a priority basis in all the state-run hospitals of the province, including the merged districts.
He said it was imperative for the public sector institutions and their affiliates to perform professional duties in the best manner to ensure efficient delivery of health care services.
The chief minister said the health employees have already been given incentives, and every possible assistance would be provided to them in future.
