JUI-F not to recognize legislation by ‘fake parliament’, says Maulana Fazlur Rehman
SUKKUR: JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman severely criticized the mishandling of the army chief’s extension issue by the government. Addressing the Shaheed Senator Khalid Mahmood Soomro Conference on Thursday, he said the performance of the government’s legal team in defending the COAS’s extension at the Supreme Court was deplorable. The PTI turned the national security issue into a joke. Fazlur Rehman said now the judiciary has referred the issue to be decided by the parliament. He said we have all the respect for the judiciary but we cannot accept legislation by a ‘fake parliament’. He said the government has destroyed the economy and mismanaged every issue under its watch. Fazlur Rehman accused the FBR and NAB of slowing down the economy in the name of accountability in which only the opposition leaders are being targeted. Terming the accountability process discriminatory, Fazl said the relatives of the prime minister and the cabinet members have been spared by the NAB. He said the entire opposition is unanimous in considering the PTI government as not acceptable. The opposition leader said the government has compromised the Kashmir issue and are shedding crocodile tears over the persecution being suffered by the Kashmiris. The JUI-F leader criticised the life attempt on Maulvi Kifayatullah and demanded a high-level inquiry into the incident.
