Khyber Pakhtunkhwa govt to give honorarium to players
PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has decided to give a monthly honorarium to players of the province who won medals at the National Games.
The awards will also be given to the players who win medals at the upcoming provincial games, said a handout. The decision was taken at a meeting chaired by Senior Minister for Sports Atif Khan. The meeting also decided that 100 coaches would be recruited for the training of players in different games. Besides this government would also sponsor players nominated for international games in foreign countries. The senior minister said that gold medalists would be given Rs20,000 per month, silver medalists Rs15,000 while the bronze medalists Rs10,000 per month. The meeting also decided to sponsor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa athletes who participated in international competitions.
