Two children activated with cochlear implants

Islamabad :In a ceremony held here in CDA Hospital, the batteries have been activated into the cochlear implants of two children who were got successfully operated one month before.

Managing Director Pakistan Bait-ul-Mal (PBM) Aon Abbas Buppi, Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs, Ali Muhammad Khan, Special Assistant to Prime Minister on CDA Affairs Ali Nawaz Awan and Executive Director CDA Hospital Dr. Mahmood Ashraf were the prominent dignitaries among the participants.

Addressing the ceremony, Ali Muhammad expressed his enthusiasm for a continued support for the vulnerable children of the country. He further added that the passion of Managing Director PBM is highly commendable who took this task as a challenge and eliminated the barrier of limited financial resources through a flourishing fund raising campaign.

SAPM on CDA affairs, in his speech expressed his enthusiasm to be part of PBM team to serve the deprived persons. He also reaffirmed the Government’s commitment for taking concrete measures to rehabilitate the deprived persons.

On the occasion, Managing Director PBM Aon Abbas Buppi expressed his emotional attachment with this project. He said that this medical intervention will have a life-changing impact on the lives of deaf and mute children and that would be a source of ever-lasting satisfaction for us as well when these children will grow up with hearing and speaking abilities and will be able to serve the country in a proficient way. The Managing Director told that Rs130 million has been collected so far through donations and further children would be benefited with cochlear implants, whoever comes up the first in the list. He also shared the assurance of Prime Minister of Pakistan to allocate more finance to this project under Ehsaas Programme, despite Government’s budgetary constraints.

On the occasion, Minister of State for Parliamentary Ali Muhammad Khan gave A’zaan in the children’s ears. Accessory boxes of cochlear implants were also presented to the parents on this occasion. The sentiments of the parents were worth seeing when they experienced hearing stimulations in their children first time.
