LAHORE:Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami Senator Sirajul Haq has said the prime minister’s ‘criticism’ of the judiciary creates an environment of clash among institutions.

In a statement issued from JI headquarters Mansoora on Thursday he said the top judge basically showed the mirror to the prime minister that it was not the court but the government which allowed Nawaz Sharif to go abroad for treatment.

He regretted that it was the first time that a prime minister openly ‘criticised’ the courts. If a chief executive of the country would himself make such remarks about an institution what impacts it will leave on the common people, he questioned.

The sensitivity of the matter, he said, compelled the judiciary to itself clarify its position. Now, he added, it was duty of the government to admit the truth on Nawaz Sharif matter. The JI chief said the government was intentionally creating a situation of clash and political instability realising the fact that it failed to perform in any sector. The PTI, he added, even failed to fulfill its basic promise of strengthening the institution of accountability in the country. He said that the anti-corruption drive had created a strong impression of political victimisation as the rulers failed to build a strong and impartial accountability watchdog. Similarly, he said, the economy was collapsing and people were losing buying capacity with everyday passing due to skyrocketing inflation. Thousands lost jobs due to unemployment which went record high in the history of the country, he said.

Baloch: A delegation of Kashmiri leaders from the AJK called on Jamaat-e-Islami naib ameer Liaquat Baloch at Mansoora here on Thursday.

Talking to them, Baloch said the JI was committed to the Kashmir cause and standing with their brethren in their struggle for freedom from India. He said the JI would hold Kashmir March towards Islamabad on December 22 to condemn the Indian brutalities in the held valley. The marchers would demand the government and international community take step to end crimes against humanity in the IHK and allow people to exercise their right to self-determination granted them under various UN resolutions.

Meanwhile, a delegation of Kissan Board also met Baloch and discussed the situation of agriculture sector. The growers said the government like the previous rulers was not paying attention to improve the sector considered as backbone of the country s economy.
