Plot to create rift among allies will not succeed: CM Usman Buzdar

LAHORE:Punjab Assembly Speaker Ch Pervaiz Elahi called on Chief Minister Usman Buzdar at his office here on Wednesday and discussed various matters of mutual interest. They discussed further strengthening of bilateral relationship during the meeting which lasted for two hours.

Federal Housing Minister Tariq Bashir Cheema and MNA Moonis Elahi were also present. The CM paid tributes to Ch Pervaiz Elahi for best administering the Punjab Assembly affairs and both agreed to continue working jointly for the betterment of the people of Punjab. Talking on this occasion, Usman Buzdar said that this relationship will be further strengthened with every passing moment, adding that allies will be taken along in the journey of provincial development. We will jointly continue serving the masses and conspiracies of those trying to create misunderstandings will not succeed, he added. He said that the mission of public service will be completed by benefitting from the experiences of each other. We are doing such public welfare initiatives which the past rulers had failed to perform even in years. The era of befooling people with hollow slogans is over and Pakistan has started moving towards the road to change. The new local bodies system will give a new dimension to public service and this system will provide relief to the common man, he added. He said that record legislation has been made in a short period by Punjab government and this record is better than other provincial assemblies. Around 28 bills and acts aimed at the welfare of the public have been passed by the Punjab Assembly, he added. Ch Pervaiz Elahi said: “We will always be standing with Chief Minister Usman Buzdar. No one should remain in any misunderstanding. We are an ally of the PTI and our alliance is stronger than before.” He said that those trying to weaken the alliance will not succeed. The past government caused damage to the people by closing the public welfare projects of my era, he lamented. It is better to solve every problem through consultations. He said that merit and good governance rules the province instead of personal likes and dislikes. We will jointly work to provide relief to the people and Chief Minister Usman Buzdar is serving the people of the province, he added.

KISSAN PLATFORMS SET UP: On the direction of Chief Minister Usman Buzdar, Kissan platforms have been set up in 32 model bazaars of different districts for giving direct relief to the people. In this regard, Usman Buzdar has said that farmers will directly sell their agri produce adding that space has been provided to the farmers free of cost. He said that Kissan platforms have been set up in 12 model bazaars in Lahore division, one each in model bazaars of Bahawalpur and Sahiwal divisions, four each in Gujranwala and Faisalabad divisions and three each model bazaars have been set up in DG Khan and Sargodha divisions. Similarly, two Kissan platforms have been set up in Rawalpindi division and the same number of platforms has been set up in Multan division. He said that no compromise will be made on providing eatables to the people on suitable rates. Kissan platforms will help to provide vegetables at subsidized rates, he added. There is no room for illegal profiteering in Punjab and indiscrimination action will be continued against hoarders and illegal profiteers. The government is taking all possible steps to provide relief to the people, the chief minister added.

MPAS ASSURED OF SOLVING PROBLEMS: Special Assistant to PM Nadeem Afzal Chan and MPAs held separate meetings with Chief Minister Usman Buzdar at his office. The MPAs apprised the chief minister about the problems of their constituencies. The chief minister issued directions for the solution of their problems. Talking on this occasion, Usman Buzdar said that genuine problems of the MPAs will be dealt with on priority basis and public representatives will be given complete respect. Your honour is my honour and opinion of assembly members will be given importance in development schemes, he added. He said that government was run in previous tenures through the one-man show and consultation with assembly members was ignored. The assembly was not given importance more than a rubber stamp, he added. He said that assembly members are the crown of our head as new Pakistan belongs to the common man. Pakistan is moving towards achieving its destination under the leadership of Prime Minister Imran Khan, he said. He said that government is working for holistic development and no corner will be deprived of the fruit of development. Consultation with assembly members has been started for the first time in Punjab. The assembly members should strengthen their contacts with the people and make every effort for the solution of their problems, he added. Those who called on the chief minister included Special Assistant to PM Nadeem Afzal Chan, provincial minister Malik Asad Khokhar, Gulraiz Afzal Gondal, Farrukh Mumtaz Manika, Ahmad Shah Khagha, Malik Muhammad Ehsan Ullah Tiwana, Muhammad Nadeem Qureshi, Raja Yawar Kamal Khan, Zafar Iqbal, Muhammad Tariq Tarrar, Ch. Iftikhar Hussain, Sardar Farooq Aman Ullah Dareshak and Chief Whip in Punjab Assembly Syed Abbas Ali Shah.

CM CONDOLES DEATH: Chief Minister Usman Buzdar condoled the death of the wife of Senator Kamil Ali Agha. He extended sympathies to the bereaved family and prayed to Almighty Allah to rest the departed soul in eternal peace.
