ISLAMABAD: The Rahber Committee of the opposition parties Tuesday decided to open all highways and roads countrywide. Akram Durrani, the committee convener, told reporters after the meeting the blocked highways would be opened Tuesday night.

He said in order to continue pressure on the government, the opposition's joint public meetings would be organised at the districts level. Reiterating their demand for the prime minister's resignation, he said they would demand hearing of the foreign funding case on a daily basis. Deploring the poor economic situation, Durrani asked the prime minister to have pity on people and tender his resignation. He said in view of bad shape of economy, nobody would agree to become prime minister once Imran Khan stepped down.

Claiming that the opposition's protest plan was achieving objectives, the JUI-F leader said the speech of the prime minister during the opening of Hazara Motorway evidenced his frustration.
