Remand of child pornography accused extended
RAWALPINDI: Civil Judge Rawalpindi Rizwan Hanif Shaikh extended physical remand of Sohail Ayaz, leader of an international child rapist gang, who was arrested few days ago, for four days here on Monday.
The court also approved four-day physical remand of Khurram, alias Kala, and Muhammad Ijaz as they allegedly ‘supplied’ kids to Sohail Ayaz. The court ordered police to present the accused again on November 22.
City Police Officer (CPO) said police has decided to widen the search and investigation area to other cities to nab various accomplices of Sohail Ayaz, who ran a child pornography ring. Khurram, alias Kala, confessed to providing innocent minor children to Ayaz for rape, he said.
The arrested men raped a child, who sold eggs for a living and has now been recovered, continuously for at least two months. They were involved in consuming and selling crystal methamphetamine commonly known as ice and heroin.
According to Rawalpindi Police, Sohail Ayaz arrested from Rawat area was suspected to have kidnapped and raped many children. He was working with the KP Governance and Policy Project as a consultant. “We will arrest some other friends of Ayaz very soon,” police said.
Sohail Ayaz confessed to sexually abusing 30 innocent children. Further, police have seized the suspect’s laptop which has a database of hundreds of porn videos and obscene photos of children.
