PESHAWAR: Three improvised explosive devices (IEDs) were defused in different areas of Peshawar on Monday. AIG of the Bomb Disposal Unit Shafqat Malik told The News that a 10 kilogram IED had been planted on the Warsak Road. “The IED was a booby trap to target the BDU personnel on their arrival. However, we realised the threat and defused the bomb,” said the senior official. The official added that two other IEDs were defused in the limits of the Matani police station before it could hit the target. After a long time the bombs were planted and defused in the city and its suburban areas. The city police had also arrested two terrorists with 30 grenades the other day.
