Crackdown against mafias goes on in Lakki
PESHAWAR: The Lakki Marwat Police during a crackdown against mafias have arrested 11 members and associates of various groups and nabbed 53 drug sellers during the last over one month.
An official said that a campaign was going on across the district against the land mafia, extortionists, usurers and drug sellers on the directives of the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Mohammad Naeem Khan. According to the official, 20 big fish have been identified in the district out of which 11 and their associates have been arrested while actions are underway against others. Besides, he added, 53 persons were arrested for selling drugs including ice and heroin. During the action, the official added, police arrested 27 proclaimed offenders and recovered 525 grams of ice, 5 kg of heroin and 60 kg of hashish. The Naurang police arrested the highest number of accused, followed by Lakki Police station.
