‘3,591 POs, 1,069 facilitators held in Mardan’
MARDAN: The police arrested as many as 3,591 proclaimed offenders, 1,069 facilitators and seized huge quantity of weapons and drugs from their possession during the current year under national action plan (NAP), a senior police official said on Sunday. DPO Mohammad Sajjad Khan told reporters that under the National Action Plan (NAP), the police conducted various operations in the current year and arrested 3,591 proclaimed offenders which were wanted to police in crimes of heinous nature. He added that the police arrested 1,069 facilitators. The DPO added that police also arrested33,238 suspected persons under the NAP. Up to 60 people were sent to jail under 3MPO as well.
The police seized 334 Kalashnikov rifles, 104 Kalakov rifle, 203 rifles, 449 guns, 4,725 pistols, 84,315 cartridges of different bore, 9 hand-grenades, 83 dynamites, 504 safety fuse and 617 detonators. The DPO added that police seized 2,474 kg of hashish, 57 kg of heroin, 11,050 grams of opium, 724 litres of wine,30,466 grams of ice.
