A man was found dead after he allegedly committed suicide at his home in the Surjani Town neighbourhood on Sunday. According to police officials, the incident took place at a house located in Abdur Raheem Goth within the limits of the Surjani Town police station.
Responding to information received, rescuers reached the property and took the body to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for a post-mortem examination. The man was later identified as 24-year-old Faisal, son of Qasim.
Police said that the man had apparently committed suicide by hanging himself from a ceiling fan over reasons that were yet to be ascertained. They said that further investigations were under way.
Burn injuries
A shopkeeper suffered burn injuries at his shop in the Paposh Nagar police jurisdiction. According to officials, the injured person was taken to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for medical treatment. The man was identified as 45-year-old Qasim, son of Saeed.
Police said that the incident took place when the gas welding tank at the shop exploded while the man was carrying out some welding work. They said that further investigations were under way.
