First of its kind a nationwide cloud innovation roadshow concluded here on Sunday to create and expand awareness about advance technology of internet cloud technology, says a press release.
The roadshow was conducted by Huawei - a leading global ICT solutions provider - with strong participation from government and private sectors looking at how organisations in Pakistan can benefit from advancements in cloud-based IT solutions over the coming five years. Huawei’s Pakistan IT Road Show started on July 27.
The Pakistan roadshow was well received by cities including Islamabad, Lahore and Karachi with over 1,000 customers attending. This has included leading CIOs, CTOs and senior level management from IT and telecommunication regulatory bodies, as well as representatives from numerous vertical industries. Many of the world’s most advanced IT and cloud-based solutions were showcased along the way. As part of the program, Huawei experts shared guidance on how new cloud-based IT solutions can be applied in various environments particularly in fields of telecommunications, education, banking and finance.
“Pakistan is at a crossroads of development. With abundant human resources and an understanding of cutting-edge technology, it is evident that Pakistan’s ICT market will continue to expand and contribute to the overall development of society,” says Mr. Aragon Meng, CEO of Huawei Pakistan. “In building a better connected Pakistan, it is Huawei’s aim to help make IT simple and make business agile. We pledge to help governments, corporates and telcos to better understand the challenges they face, the market needs, and to position their cloud offerings in a way that monetizes huge amounts of digital information for extending their competitive advantage.”
One of the highlights of the road show were demonstrations that gave visitors the opportunity to experience firsthand the latest innovations in data centers, storage, virtual servers & desktops, plus a wide range of vertical industry solutions. That has included access to a fully-functional Huawei data center operating in a live environment inside the demo container. As part of the road show, Huawei underscored its vision of creating “Open roads to a better connected world” through various platforms including conferences and live demonstrations across numerous cities in Pakistan.
