Punjab Governor Malik Rafiq Rajwana has said that the government is taking revolutionary steps for the promotion of quality education particularly vocational education to enable youths to play a constructive role in the development of the country.
The governor/chancellor was addressing the 6th convocation of King Edward Medical University for the undergraduate class of 2014 held here at Patiala Block on Saturday. KEMU Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Faisal Masood, Pro-Vice Chancellor Prof Kazi Muhammad Saeed, Registrar Prof Atif Kazmi, Chairman Convocation Committee Prof Asad Aslam Khan, Secretary Organizing Committee Prof Aftab Asif, entire faculty, the students/undergraduates of Supplementary Examination 2013, Annual Examination 2014, Supplementary Examination 2014 and postgraduate students of 2014 and 2015 were present on the occasion. The oath from newly passed-out graduates was also taken on the occasion.
The governor said that KEMU was a most prestigious medical institution, whose graduates had done marvels in and outside the country. He also congratulated the fresh passed-out graduates, and advised them to spend all energies and potential to serve humanity. He also lauded the faculty, who had put in all their efforts to polish the abilities of the students.
The governor awarded medals and degrees among the graduates of 2014, who achieved positions and passed out their classes/subjects with distinction. Sardar Hasan Ijaz topped the medical graduates of the session 2009-2015 and won 14 gold medals, while 11 other medical graduates also received gold medals on the occasion.
