HAFIZABAD: Like other parts of the country, the Independence Day was celebrated in the district with great national enthusiasm and zeal.
On the occasion, the main flag hoisting ceremony was held at District Complex where Federal Minister for Health Saeera Afzal Tarar along with MPA Malik Fiaz Ahmad Awan, DCO Muhammad Usman and DPO Shakir Hussain Dawar hoisted the flag.
A large number of officers of the district administration and elites of the district attended the ceremony.
Saeera and others paid rich tributes to workers of the Pakistan Movement.
A flag hoisting ceremony also held at District Judicial Complex.
District and Sessions Judge Rao Abdul Jabbar hoisted the flag.
A large number of lawyers of the DBA attended the ceremony.
Other ceremonies were also celebrated in schools.
Various rallies were also taken out to celebrate the I-Day.
A rally on motorcycles under the leadership of an organization’s leaders Barrister Peer Syed Waseem-ul- Hassan Naqvi, Mehr Khalid Chaudhry, Allama Faisal Nadeem Kilani and Allama Rana Muhammad Asghar Chishiti was taken out. The rally started from Darbar Khateeb-ul-Islam and ended at Vanike chowk.
Activists of the Sunni Tehreek also participated in the motorbike rally and raised slogans in favour of Pakistan.
The second big rally was taken out under the auspices of power looms labour union led by Mehr Jamshad and Muhammad Zuman Ansari.
A large number of labourers of power looms factories participated in the rally.
The third rally was taken out by Jamat-u-Dawa led by its district ameer Abu Hunzala. This rally started from Gujrawnala road and ended at Fawara chowk.
Special duas were offered during Friday prayers for the welfare and prosperity of the country.
