Samiul Haq announces support to Mulla Mansour

NOWSHERA: Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam-Sami (JUI-S) chief and administrator of the Darul Uloom Haqqania, Maulana Samiul Haq along with other teachers of the seminary announced support Wednesday to Mulla Akhtar Mohammad Mansour as the new leader of the Afghan Taliban.
The announcement was made in a ceremony at the start of the new academic year at the Darul Uloom Haqqania on Wednesday. Hundreds of Ulema and clerics from Afghanistan also attended the event.
Maulana Samiul Haq urged the Afghan Taliban to set aside their differences and extend cooperation to Mulla Akhtar Mansour for the cause of Taliban and Islam. He said that unity among the ranks of mujahideen was needed at this critical juncture when foreign forces were still present in Afghanistan. He said that differences among the Taliban leaders would encourage the enemies of Islam to hatch conspiracies against the Muslim world. Prominent Pakistani religious scholar Dr Maulana Sher Ali Shah, who was a teacher to a number of known Afghan Taliban leaders, also spoke on the occasion. He urged the Afghan and Pakistani Ulema to work for enforcement of Shariah in Afghanistan and Pakistan and other Islamic countries.
The speakers eulogized the services of the late Taliban supreme leader Mulla Mohammad Omar for Islam and Afghanistan. Fateha was also offered for the departed soul of Mulla Omar. The gathering also prayed for the early recovery of the ailing Afghan Taliban leader Maulvi Jalaluddin Haqqani.
