LAHORE
Justice Muhammad Farrukh Irfan Khan of the Lahore High Court Monday again issued notice on a petition seeking adequate safety measures in the hospitals after a fire erupted at nursery of Services Hospital in 2012. The judge sought a report from the Punjab government until September 14 about fire safety measures adopted at public sector hospitals of the province.
Judge earlier had observed citizens direly needed good health facility, free education and clean drinking water instead of carpeted roads. The health secretary Punjab had submitted report that effective safety measures had been taken at 97 public hospitals in the province. The report stated that the modern firefighting equipment was being installed in the hospitals besides appointment of safety officer for each health facility. Advocate Noshab A Khan filed a petition requesting for adequate safety measures at the hospitals.
