KU awards 49 MPhil, 17 PhD degrees

The Board of Advanced Studies and Research (BASR) of Karachi University on Thursday conferred 66 degrees, 49 MPhil and 17 PhD degrees, in various disciplines.

According to KU Registrar Professor Dr Saleem Shahzad, the ASRB in its recent meeting held under the chairmanship of the varsity’s vice chancellor, Professor Dr Khalid Mahmood Irqai, approved these degrees.

The MPhil degrees were awarded to Farhat Perveen, Erum Hasan, Tahira Yasmeen, Amber Bano, Bushra Khatoon, M Aamer, Asia, Lubna Atta, Tooba Jabri, Sidra Safdar Durrani, Asma Hanif, Nadia Noor Hassan, Yusra Anwer, Hadia Khalil, Kiran Maryam, Hina Hazrat, Fakiha Subzwari, Zaib un Nisa, Fakhre Alam Siddiqui, Rabia Ijaz, Nargis, Shaista Jabeen, Zainab Abbasi, Syeda Yusra Gilani, Mir Uzairullah, Tuba Sharf Batool, Aasma, Sarah Ali, Kheemchand, Hadia Nazar, Sarah Lawrence, Sabeen Hashmat Qazi, Sadia Rehman, Nila Bibi, Sassi Kanwal, Winay Kumar, Huma Salahuddin, Hina Wasi, Naseema Ahmed Jan, Suhrab Khan, Ishtiaq Ahmed, Fatima Rehman, Syed Alamdar Raza, Javeria, Khalid Khan, Syed Afaque Hussain, Farina Idris and Hafiza Sarah Tasneem.

He mentioned that the PhD degrees were awarded to Binte Zehra, Rehman Imad, Nazish Fatima Bungash, Syed Muhammad Haroon Rashid, Iram Tahir, Ghazala Raza Naqvi, Mubeena Shahid Qureshi, Muhammad Mashhood Ahmed, Khurram Iftikhar, Amrina Habib, Syeda Sadia Bukhari, Huma Jamshed, Musarrat-ul-Ain, Farhat Niazi, Leezna, Syed Shabibul Hasnain Kazmi and Nazia Irshad.

52 scholarships

Vice Chancellor Prof Khalid Mahmood Iraqi on Wednesday distributed scholarship cheques among 52 students, 36 enrolled in MPhil and 16 in PhD programme. The students enrolled in MPhil programme would get Rs8,000 for 12 months while Rs10,000 would be given to the PhD students for 24 months.
