BIEK announces results of pre-engineering part II exams

The Board of Intermediate Education Karachi (BIEK) on Thursday announced the results of Higher Secondary School Certificate Annual Examination 2019 for the group of pre-engineering part II.

According to the statistics, the board had registered 36,173 candidates, including 26,359 male and 9,814 female, for the annual examination. However, the invigilators noted that 761 candidates, including 625 male and 136 female examinees, were absent during the exams. Out of the total candidates, 14,060 were declared passed. Thus, the percentage of successful aspirants remained 39.70 per cent.

The gazette shows that 848 students bagged A-1 grade, 2,422 secured A-grade, 3,458 received B-grade while the remaining passed their exams with C, D, and E grade.

Alishba Arshad, a student of the Metropolis Intermediate College for Girls, clinched the first position with 1,005 marks out of 1,100. Inayat Ali, a student of the Government National College bagged the second position by obtaining 990 marks while Adnan Ali Baig, a student of the Adamjee Government Science College, stood third with 989 marks.

The invigilators had registered 104 cases against examinees who were allegedly involved in using unfair means during exams. However, the board officials had vowed to provide a fair opportunity to these candidates and directed them to appear before the judicious committee.

The results of these candidates had been withheld by the board. If the committee cleared these candidates from the allegations, the board officials would issue their results. The BIEK had also clarified that the board reserves the right to rectify errors and omissions in the results any time on the basis of the original record. However, every care had been taken to ensure that results were accurate.
