Nigar Nazar and her aides from Gogi Studios have been out this Ramazan, rekindling the spirit of benevolence among young Islooites. The visit was part of “inculcating spirit of giving” with kids at Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences, Islamabad, says a press release.
Their visit was part of a campaign purposed around ‘sowing seed of life’s lesson in children’. The best part of the visit was a buzz of congeniality that lighted up the faces of ailing angels. Colourful Gogi comic books were handed over to child patients as ‘gift of the friend’. Around 1,200 awareness comic books for the children’s ward of PIMS while some1,500 books got sent to Sweet Homes, this summer.
“What can be more meaningful than giving a child a smile, through books? Because book is a gift that you open again and again! Every time you open it, it in turn opens a window to a creative thought process”, said Nigar Nazar, CEO of Gogi Studios.
Saddened for the kids not allowed to leave hospital this Eid, Gogi crew under her patronage devised an all children get-together. “These gifts will cheer them up and keep them somewhat occupied. Besides I have this dream that children of my nation grow up into great charitable individuals like Edhi Sahab!” she passionately mused.
“It’s also about bringing book reading back to the student of today. Although the task is arduous and we need support for this outreach activity but we are not giving up. Hopefully our comic books, a burst of color and content, would be successful in delivering social messages across”. She added.
