Mohmand Rifles, Levies force members clash

GHALLANAI: Members of the Mohmand Rifles and Levies force engaged in a clash and arrested each other’s personnel on Friday, official sources said.The sources said the Mohmand Rifles arrested the Levies Force Subedar Shah-e-Rom after an exchange of harsh words. This provoked the personnel of the Levies Force, who scuffled with the Mohmand Rifles officials while trying to secure by force the release of Subedar Shah-e-Rom from captivity. The Levies Force personnel in retaliation seized a Mohmand Rifles soldier. The two sides also traded fire, but no casualty was reported in the incident. Later, Commandant Mohmand Rifles and officials of the political administration reached the area and resolved the issue.The two soldiers who had been seized were freed after the intervention of their seniors.
