The month of Ramazan further strengthens the bond of unity and brotherhood among Muslim countries.
This was the crux of the short speeches delivered by participants of an ‘iftar-dinner’ and cultural get-together in honour of diplomats of Islamic countries held at Iqbal International Institute for Research and Dialogue (IRD) of International Islamic University (IIU) Islamabad.
The event was hosted by IIU Rector Dr. Masoom Yasinzai, while diplomats from Jordan, Tajikistan, Turkey, Iraq and Yemen were noted among those in attendance.
The deans, directors and other senior staff members of the university also showed up. Speaking on the occasion, diplomats shared the experiences and traditions of Ramazan in their countries and informed each other about Eidul Fitr and cultural environment in the fasting month.
Dr Masoom Yasinzai said on the occasion that IIU was for entire Muslim world as students of more than 40 countries were acquiring quality education here and it was going to be a unique hub of solution to the problems of Muslim Ummah. He said students’ induction from the brother Muslim countries should rise and diplomats can play vital role in exchange of faculty, students and inviting new students to IIU. He thanked all for joining the occasion as well. Dr. Muhammad Bashir Khan, acting president IIU also spoke on the occasion and stressed unity of Muslims while saying that Islamic countries are rich in natural resources in comparison of whole world but still facing problems such as instability, economic recessions.
