PESHAWAR: Senior Minister for Local Government, Rural Development and Elections, Inayatullah Khan, has directed the authorities to declare emergency in hospitals to treat the victims of heatstroke.
In a statement, he expressed grief and shock over the loss of precious lives due to immense heatstroke in various areas and expressed sympathies with the bereaved families. He also asked the people to adopt precautionary measures to avoid heatstroke.
Meanwhile, Inayatullah Khan met Peshawar Electric Supply Company (Pesco) chief Syed Hassan Fazil at the Wapda House. The minister apprised him of the concerns of people in respect of unscheduled and prolonged loadshedding in Malakand Division particularly in Upper Dir district.
Inayatullah made it clear to the Pesco chief that like Hazara division, the consumers in Malakand division also regularly paid electricity bills and no cases of power theft were reported there but loadshedding of long duration, low voltage and fluctuation had become a routine that must be checked properly.
He asked for drastic decrease in loadshedding in Malakand division. He also directed the official to complete all ongoing electricity distribution schemes on time and expedite work on Chakdara gridstation. The Pesco chief assured his cooperation and completion of schemes on time.
