Tree plantation drive announced

Over one million saplings in Karachi and more than three million saplings elsewhere in Sindh will be planted during July and August in a plantation campaign on the directives of Information and Local Government Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon.
According to a statement issued on Thursday, he has announced the launch of the plantation campaign to stop environment degradation in the province.
The minister has also issued the necessary instructions to the secretary of the local governments, and the Karachi administrator, the managing director of the water board, the administrators of all districts municipal and deputy commissioners in this regard.
He has ordered the immediate launch of the campaign to achieve the target in time and also to launch an awareness campaign to educate the masses about importance of greenery and cleanliness.
