Fifty drone cameras have been handed over to all district police officers on the instructions of IG Mushtaq Ahmad Sukhera to ensure security of the participants of various processions and for the surveillance of the hideouts of hardened Pos and criminals for operational purpose.
Each district is handed over 1 whereas special branch 3, CCPO, Lahore, 3, all police training schools and colleges were given 1 and Specialised Protection Unit (SPU), CTO, Lahore and CTO, Rawalpindi were also delivered individually one camera.
In a statement, Mushtaq Ahmad Sukhera said maximum utilisation of the latest technology enables the department to control crime and eliminate terrorism and smashing the most wanted gangs involved in serious crimes, besides security of the officers/officials could also be managed through this technology.
The PHP department can also make the secured travelling of the citizens across Punjab with the help of these drone cameras. Similarly, the traffic flow and traffic management can be improved with the help of these cameras and regular traffic jam can also be easily avoided.
