LAHORE
Green Town police arrested an accused who was involved in selling the plots of oversees Pakistanis by providing fake power of attorney.
Two separate FIRs (209/15 and 210/15) have been registered against Wahab Ullah. He revealed that one Malik Shakeel was operating the gang from London.
The complainant alleged that Green Town Investigation police were patronising the mafia. The victims have appealed to the government top brass to transfer the case to the NAB for proper investigation and compensation to the victims.
Wheelie doer: Traffic wardens of the City Traffic Police arrested a wheelie doer and recovered a weapon from him in the Naseerabad police limits on Tuesday.
Chief Traffic Officer Tayyab Hafeez Cheema has announced cash and commendatory certificates for the brave wardens.
Naseerabad police have registered a case against the accused identified as Ramazan, a resident of Sabzazar, and started investigations. Patrolling Officer Shafqat had spotted the wheelie doer who was doing stunts on Ferozpur Road.
He aired a message to traffic wardens named Tanveer, Abbad and Suhail at Gulab Devi Stop to intercept the wheelie doer. The traffic wardens managed to arrest the violator and recovered a 30-bore pistol and bullets from him.
accidents: At least 543 road traffic accidents were reported to the Rescue 1122’s Provincial Monitoring Cell in all the 36 districts of Punjab during the last 24 hours in which 10 lives were lost. About 438 seriously injured were shifted to different hospitals of the relevant districts. However, some 214 victims were provided first aid on the spot.
According to a data, about 200 drivers, 24 underage drivers, 124 pedestrians and 338 passengers were among victims of these road traffic accidents.
The statistics show 116 RTAs were reported to Lahore Control Room, which affected 121 persons placing the provincial capital at the top of the list followed by 66 RTAs in Faisalabad with 78 victims and Gujranwala at third position with 39 RTAs and 40 victims.
Details further show that total 662 victims were affected by road traffic crashes including 554 males and 108 females, while the age group of the victims showed that 94 were under the 18 years of age, 420 were between 18 and 40 years and rest of the 148 victims were reported above 40 years.
According to the data, 426 motorbikes, 63 auto rickshaws, 59 motorcars, 36 vans, 12 passenger buses, 22 trucks and 72 other types of auto vehicles and slow moving carts were involved in the aforesaid road traffic accidents.
