The Board of Advance Studies and Research of University of Karachi in a meeting held under the chairmanship of the KU Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Muhammad Qaiser awarded 47 PhD and seven MPhil degrees in various disciplines.
This was announced by the KU registrar on Monday. He said that the PhD degrees were awarded to Muhammad Qasim Rajpar (Sindhi), Mohammad Abdul Haq (Botany), Zulfikar Ali (Sindhi), Fazal Haque Farooqi (Urdu), Rashid Ahmed (International Relations), Chaudhry Wasim Iqbal (Law), Khalid Amin (Urdu), Neelam Malick (Pharmacology), Tahmeena Tabishh Latifi (Special Education), Muhammad Azeem Iqbal (Urdu) and Pervaiz Iqbal (Marine Biology).
Sara Azhar (Statistics), Syed Sanwer Ali (Environmental Studies), Fayyaz Ahmed Ansari (Chemistry), Abdur Razaq (Usool-ud-Din), Mohsin Raza (Environmental Studies), Farzana Korejo (Botany), Perwaiz Haider Nonary (Islamic Learning), Shahnaz Perween (Zoology), Saba Yaseen (Clinical Psychology), Muhammad Ateeq (Chemistry, HEJ), Muhammad Asif Nawaz (Biotechnology, KIBGE), Syed Ajazuddin (Marine Biology) and Shagufta Nesar (Pharmaceutics) were also awarded PhD degrees.
According to the registrar, Izhar Baig (Public Administration), Muhammad Faezul Ebraar (Arabic), Hadia Sarwat (Clinical Psychology), Mirza Izhar Hussain (Pharmaceutics), Sofia Qaiser (Biotechnology, KIBGE), Muhammad Atif Aslam (Quran and Sunnah), Syed Zafar Hussain Jafri (Political Science), Irfan Ali (Microbiology), Farheen Khanum (Geography), Asad Karim (Biotechnology, KIBGE), Muhammad Saeed (Computer Science), Hamid Ali (Islamic Learning), Shazia Shaheen Zafar (European Studies ASCE), Kehkashan Khan (Chemistry), Shafaq Ahmad (Clinical Psychology), Hina (Clinical Psychology), Mubeen Rani (Chemistry), Muhammad Riaz (Islamic Learning), Muhammad Ateeq (Philosophy), Ikram Shah (Sociology), Sheeba Naz (Biotechnology), Sajid Iqbal (Chemistry) and Samreen Mirza (Zoology) also received PhD degrees.
The MPhil degrees were awarded to Akhter Baloch (Urdu), Mehwish Shafi Khan (Mathematical Sciences), Muhammad Amin (Zoology), Rizwan Rehman (Physics), Ateeq Razzak (Mathematical Sciences), Taha Ahmed Minai (Computer Science) and Ayliya Fatima Agha), he mentioned.
