The Federal Investigation Agency’s (FIA) Anti- Human Trafficking Circle (AHTC) registered a case on Tuesday under the Emigration Ordinance 1979 against agents and passengers who were offloaded of a flight at the Karachi airport.
A spokesman for the FIA said the people who were offloaded were proceedings to Poland (Schengen) on the basis of fake/forged student visas.
Accordingly, an inquiry was registered at the AHTC against them, and during the inquiry Poland’s consulate, Islamabad, confirmed that the visas were fake and forged and not issued by the consulate.
During the preliminary inquiry and interrogation, those offloaded disclosed that they had never appeared before the embassy or the consulate for visas and all things had been done by agents against a huge payment of Rs1.5million each.
Accordingly, acting on information from agents, raids were conducted by FIA personnel who arrested the agents and fake visa holders. The passengers offloaded were identified as Abdul Salaam, Faizan Ahmed and Afaaq Azeem, while agents were named as Arzam Khan Khatak and Muhammad Asif. Further investigations are underway.
