PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Bar Council on Thursday asked the chief justice of Peshawar High Court (PHC) to void the screening test for the posts of additional district and sessions judges from lawyers’ quota and arrange written tests for all the lawyers or else they would take extreme steps.
According to a press release, the KP Bar Council held a general body meeting, presided by its vice-chairman Ahmad Farooq Khattak.Farooq Khattak told the meeting that the KP Bar Council had met the PHC chief justice and informed him about the genuine demands of the lawyers’ body and reservations over the screening test and onward procedure.
The candidates (lawyers), who failed the screening test, had also filed writ petition in the court and requested it to arrange another screening test for all the candidates as all the 598 lawyers (candidates) have not qualified the test.Now, the issue has been taken up by the KP Bar Council that asked the chief justice to arrange another written test for the candidates as all have failed the screening test.
