The paramilitary force on Friday claimed to have solved the murder mystery of a man by arresting five suspects in the interior of Sindh.

According to a spokesman for the Sindh Rangers, a special team was formed to ascertain the facts and solve the murder case of a Gilgit man, Muhammad Ali, who was tortured and killed in the A B Seena Lane area.

Waqas Hussain, Zeeshan Haider, Muhammad Saleem, Sohail Ahmed and Shabbar Hassan were intercepted at a checkpost in Khairpur Mirs by Rangers troops. During the interrogation, the suspects disclosed that they had murdered Ali over a personal enmity.

Earlier, Bisharat, Afraaz Gul and Zafraan, who were facilitators in the crime, had been arrested in different parts of the city. During the initial questioning, Zafraan disclosed that the real murderers were trying to escape from Karachi to Gilgit in a car.

Upon being informed of the escaping bid, paramilitary used technical assistance and also shared the information with the checkpoint staff.

The weapon used in the crime was said to have been recovered from the suspects. They were later handed over to police for further legal action.
