PESHAWAR: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Friday initiated an inquiry against owners and administration of a private housing scheme “Canal View” on the charges of deceiving people.

The NAB through a communiqué said that it had started the investigation against the owners and administration of the housing society for their fraud in allotment of plots to the citizens.

The NAB claimed that the owners of the illegal housing society had failed to return the money or allotted plots, on the Nasirbagh Road in Peshawar, to the affected people.

On the other hand, in the same case, Accountability Court Judge Muneera Abbasi had confirmed and extended direction of the NAB DG about the freezing of assets of the three accused persons in the private housing scheme “Canal View” on Nasirbagh Road.

The NAB prosecutor, Hashmat Jehangir, informed the court that there were allegations against the suspects including Shehzad Ali, Syed Arif and Salman Fida that they had started the housing society without getting NOC from Peshawar Development Authority (PDA) and up till now they have sold 360 plots to the people.

The prosecutor said that the housing society was not established under the Housing Society Rules, 2005.
