NOWSHERA: Elected representatives, military officer, district administration and police joined hands on Wednesday to launch the tree plantation campaign.
A tree plantation ceremony was arranged at the Manahi area of the Ziarat Kaka Sahib which was well-attended.
Present on the occasion were Member Provincial Assembly Mian Jamsheduddin Kakakhel, Nowshera Station Commander Brigadier Nazir Hussain Khan, Nowshera Deputy Commissioner Abdul Hameed Khan, District Police Officer Mansoor Aman and others.
MPA Somi Falak Niaz, District Nazim Ashfaq Ahmad Khan, Naib Nazim Zulfiqar Khattak, District Forest Officer Gulzar Khan, Assistant Commissioner of Nowshera Talha Zubair, and others took part in the plantation drive as well.
The speakers said the district administration on the directives of the provincial government was planting 150,000 saplings.
The plantation was being done with the cooperation of the Forest Department under the Clean and Green Pakistan Programme during the spring.
They urged the people to take part actively in the tree plantation campaign to improve the environment and make the area clean and green.
