Workshop for price control magistrates

LAHORE: Lahore district administration on Wednesday organised a workshop of all price control magistrates in DC office.

Lahore DC Saleha Saeed presided over the workshop which was attended by all additional deputy commissioners (headquarters, general, revenue and finance & planning of district administration, all assistant commissioners and all price control magistrates of the provincial capital. Khawar Bashir, AC Lahore Headquarter, briefed the meeting about all sections of the Price Control Act 1967. He told them about their powers under different sections of the act and how much fine and imprisonment a magistrate could impose for overcharging.

The DC Lahore said the training would help price control magistrate to work in field with ease and with full knowledge of all section of price control act.

cleanliness: Lahore Deputy Commissioner Saleha Saeed has directed all assistant commissioners to submit report about the cleanliness situation of washrooms located at fuel stations.

She instructed the ACs to visit each fuel station and submit report including availability of washroom, its hygiene and the amount of fine, if imposed.

Meanwhile, DMO Lahore Tania Malik chaired a meeting of district review committee for education which was attended by Lahore CEO Education and DDO Education. The CEO Education gave briefing to the DMO about the achievement of target after which she directed to take action against school administration which had utilised less than 50 percent of non-salary budget to provide facilities in the school. “The retention of school students should be the priority and it should be maintained”, she added.

Meanwhile, wheat procurement has been started in four centres of the provincial metropolis and officers are paying visits to these centres to review whether the arrangements are up to the mark or not.

The Deputy Commissioner Lahore also visited wheat procurement centre Rak Chabeal. She checked the register to check the serial number of applications submitted by farmers. Saleha also visited computer section of the centre. She directed the AC Shalimar to maintain the standard of arrangements on centre.

Man dies: A 35-year-old man was killed by a speeding car in the Hanjerwal police jurisdiction on Wednesday.

The victim has been identified as Asif, a resident of Hanjerwal. The victim was trying to cross a road when the car hit him from behind and he died. Police reached the scene and collected evidences. Police were trying to trace the accused driver. The body was removed to morgue.
